Jeff Huber, the man in charge of Google Maps, is moving on to a new role at the company amid a larger restructuring, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Google is reportedly dividing up Maps and Commerce into two separate units, the Journal reports, citing sources familiar with the matter. Huber, who had previously been in charge of both, is shifting over to Google X, the secretive division of the company behind so-called "moon shot" projects like Google Glass and the driverless car. The Google Maps team will now be part of the Google Search division, which is run by Alan Eustace, according to the Journal
